1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using NewsKart, you agree to these Terms, Refund Policy, Cancellation Policy, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use NewsKart.

2. About NewsKart

NewsKart is a mobile-first news reading and learning app operated by The Butterfly Universe. The app provides short news summaries, saved stories, preferences, quizzes, archive tools, alerts, and premium features through NewsKart Pro.

3. News and Educational Content

NewsKart is designed for fast understanding and learning. Summaries, key points, quiz questions, explanations, and audio briefings may be generated or assisted by automated systems and third-party sources. NewsKart does not replace the full reporting of original publishers.

Users should open original publisher links or trusted official sources before making financial, legal, medical, political, academic, or professional decisions.

4. Community Reports and Local Alerts

NewsKart may introduce community reports or local-alert features in future updates. These features are intended for practical public information such as traffic jams, road conditions, electricity outages, water supply issues, weather disruption, fire incidents, missing pets, community events, and public safety alerts.

Community reports are submitted by users. Unless clearly stated otherwise, NewsKart does not independently verify community reports. Every such report should be treated as user-submitted information and may display a disclaimer such as:

This report was submitted by local users and has not been independently verified by NewsKart.

NewsKart may use the label Community Confirmed if enough nearby users indicate that they witnessed the issue. This does not mean the report is officially verified by NewsKart, police, government, emergency services, or any public authority.

5. User Responsibilities

Use NewsKart lawfully and respectfully.
Do not misuse, reverse engineer, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service.
Do not attempt to bypass payment, subscription, or access controls.
Do not use NewsKart to spread misinformation, harassment, spam, or unlawful content.
Do not submit false, misleading, defamatory, hateful, unsafe, or unlawful community reports.
Do not name private individuals, accuse someone of a crime, share personal phone numbers, home addresses, medical information, political allegations, religious allegations, or graphic violence in community reports.

6. Moderation, Review, and Takedown

NewsKart may automatically or manually reject, limit, remove, edit visibility, or review community reports and user-submitted content. We may also suspend accounts that misuse reporting features.

If you believe a report is false, unsafe, defamatory, violates privacy, or should be removed, contact us through the support form with details. We may request additional information before taking action.

7. Emergency and Safety Disclaimer

NewsKart is not an emergency service, law-enforcement service, government authority, medical service, disaster-response system, or official verification platform. For emergencies, danger, crimes, medical situations, fire, accidents, missing persons, or urgent public safety issues, contact the relevant emergency services or authorities directly.

8. Liability for Community Reports

Community reports are user-submitted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewsKart and The Butterfly Universe are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality, timing, usefulness, or consequences of relying on user-submitted reports, local confirmations, comments, media, or alerts.

Users are responsible for the reports they submit. NewsKart may take steps to moderate content, but moderation does not create a guarantee that all inaccurate, harmful, or unlawful content will be detected immediately.

9. NewsKart Pro

NewsKart Pro may include premium features such as audio briefings, deeper summaries, smart quizzes, saved briefings, archive access, ad-free reading, or other premium tools. Features may change, improve, or be adjusted over time.

Free users may see ads. Pro users may receive an ad-free app experience for the included NewsKart Pro features, subject to the current plan details shown at purchase.

Pricing shown inside the app or on our website applies at the time of purchase. Taxes, gateway charges, app store fees, or other applicable charges may apply.

10. Payments

Payments may be processed by Razorpay, app store billing, or another authorized payment provider. NewsKart does not store full payment instrument details. Your payment provider may have its own terms, policies, and verification steps.

11. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription according to the method used for purchase.
If purchased through an app store, cancellation must be managed through that app store account.
If purchased through Razorpay or another direct payment flow, contact support for cancellation help where self-service cancellation is not available.
Cancellation stops future renewal. It does not automatically refund the current billing period unless required by law or approved under our refund policy.
After cancellation, Pro access may continue until the end of the paid billing period.

12. Refund Policy

Because NewsKart Pro provides digital services, refunds are handled carefully and fairly. Refunds may be considered in the following cases:

Duplicate payment for the same plan and same account.
Payment was successful but Pro access was not activated within a reasonable time.
Technical issue caused by NewsKart that prevents access to paid features and cannot be resolved.
Accidental purchase reported promptly and before meaningful use of Pro features.

Refund requests should generally be made within 7 days of purchase. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible. Processing time depends on the payment provider or app store.

Refunds may not be available for partial usage, change of mind after using Pro features, inability to use features due to user device or network issues, or requests made after the applicable review period, unless required by law.

13. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep NewsKart available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. News feeds, AI summaries, notifications, audio, quizzes, archives, and payment services may depend on third-party systems and internet connectivity.

14. Intellectual Property

NewsKart branding, interface, design, summaries, product experience, and related materials are owned by The Butterfly Universe or licensed to us. Third-party news content remains the property of its respective publishers and sources.

15. Limitation of Liability

NewsKart is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Butterfly Universe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the app, reliance on summaries, third-party content, or service interruptions.

16. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe a user has violated these terms, abused the service, attempted fraud, bypassed payment, or used NewsKart unlawfully.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as NewsKart evolves. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
